The Willow of Karthus
On the edge of the Karthus cemetery rests a solitary, pitch black willow tree. During the day, people pass it by without so much as a glance… at night, however, strange things begin to happen to those whom cross paths with the Willow of Karthus. Reports began around the year of 1849, after the death of the famous Katherine Karthus, a daughter of the esteemed Karthus family who founded the town. Supposedly, she was murdered within the cemetery by her unknown lover on the night they arranged to be secretly married. Ever since, all sorts of spectral and ghastly horrors have been spotted near the willow when night falls, including the likes of ghosts and demons or other unknown entities. Rumor holds that during the month of April, you are able to see the haunting figure of Katherine herself, hollowed eyes denying her the tears she restlessly mourns.
